Professional translation training? Of course! But that alone is not enough.
A language must be lived and breathed in order to be internalised – at best in the country where it is spoken.
But language is inextricable from content, themes, areas of life.
My language capabilities have therefore developed not only through scholarly studies but also from concrete experiences in different areas of life.
These include cultural management, music, art, architecture and dance, as well as encounters with people in everyday situations.
Thanks to both linguistic and translation studies – with the degrees Maîtrise franco-allemande and Diplom-Übersetzer – I have the requisite professional credentials, but my practical experience has also endowed me with the kind of cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding that is just as important.
I have always enjoyed straddling linguistic and cultural boundaries, in the process gathering a wealth of experience that allows me today, as a seasoned translator, to offer clients assistance in knowledge transfer between languages and cultures.
